CIVIL COURT
The Monroe City Court has limited civil jurisdiction throughout Monroe and Wards 3 & 10 that includes cases where the amount in dispute is $25,000 or less. Initial filing fees are charged to file civil suits, evictions and other pleadings. Civil suits may be filed with the assistance of a retained attorney or in proper person using generic forms provided by the Clerk’s office. Effective January 1, 2012:
By order of the Monroe City Court the initial Civil deposit for all new suits filed with the court will increase from $85 to $120
